Divine

Dark and alone
in this shell I do hide
Sheltered and afraid
Held back by my pride

I'll try to come out
I'll see if I fall
This love and acceptance is so new
But I know I need it's truth

I'll step forward one day
I'll see if I shine
Like the light of a distant star
that twinkles with an inner divine.

Sun

I've walked the path
light did not touch
I never knew if the sun was for me
I just knew I craved it, so much

So slowly on my hands and knees
I crawl, fearfully forward
Only to rise halfway
letting the fear subside

I go onward
Steadfast and true
Shining like the sun
the one I never knew
